COVID-19 CRISIS BE A PART OF THE BROADER, POSITIVE SOLUTION

As the world mobilizes to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus — COVID-19 — Cressi is prepared to be a model corporate citizen. We remain positive and we are taking proactive steps, but we are also relying on your help, just as a diver relies on air, his buddy, an instructor, or a piece of life-support equipment.

The key part in managing an unpredictable challenge such as COVID-19 is resilience — the ability to survive and thrive. Cressi is determined to be part of the solution. We are prepared to navigate this crisis and we want to urge you to do the same. Every single person has a role to play.

STAY SAFE WHILE DIVING

Successful containment of this “first in our generation” pandemic relies on you being home. But if you are diving or have recently returned from a dive trip, follow the advice of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and of DAN Europe:

1) Disinfect your scuba equipment

Pay special attention to your regulator mouthpieces, snorkel, BCD oral inflator, and the inside of your mask. DAN Europe recommends (for the above items using a solution of 1% aqueous solution of sodium hypochlorite (bleach) with an application time of at least 15 minutes, making sure the solution reaches every part. CLICK HERE TO READ THE ARTICLE

2) Adhere to travel precautions

If you have just returned from a dive trip, the CDC recommends a 14-day “self-isolation and social distancing” upon return to the United States. Social distancing includes avoiding going out in public and close personal interactions. If you become symptomatic, immediately self-isolate and contact your County Health Department or health care provider.

3) Be aware of COVID-19 travel advisories and restrictions

STAY POSITIVE AND PROACTIVE

It’s helpful to think of your role and responsibility during the COVID-19 crisis in terms of how you handle difficult moments affecting your immediate family — you stay together, offer support, and find solutions. It is how we in our larger Cressi “family” are handling this crisis. We are being proactive, we are offering support to our colleagues, and we are encouraging best practices for avoiding spread of COVID-19.

We want to be part of the solution to slow the transmission of COVID-19. Everyone has a role to play in getting ready and staying healthy.

At home, create an action plan to help protect your health and the health of those you care about in the event of an outbreak of COVID-19 in your community. Plan ways to care for those who might be at greater risk for serious complications, particularly older adults and those with severe chronic medical conditions like heart, lung or kidney disease.

Take everyday preventive actions to stay healthy:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Follow public health advice regarding school closures, avoiding crowds and other social distancing measures.
  • Stay informed. CDC’s COVID-19 Situation Summary will be updated regularly as information becomes available.

At work, encourage sick employees to stay at home. If you have not already done so, establish “work-from-home” and “no nonessential travel” policies. Clean all frequently touched surfaces in the workplace, such as workstations, common areas such as kitchens and conference rooms, countertops, and doorknobs.

KEEP DREAMING

After every storm, the sun emerges from behind the clouds. Cressi will always be prepared to safeguard our people and core operations in any unexpected crisis, and we will face it with courage, empathy and determination. We are preparing to rebound from any temporary setbacks, and we remain confident and committed to our future.

Hopefully, you have a dive trip planned for the future. When you do make your next dream dive vacation, we at Cressi look forward to helping you enjoy your time underwater.
