The Evolution of Cressi’s Full-Face Masks: From Medusa to Duke Dry
In 1946, the founders of Cressi, brothers Egidio and Nanni Cressi, crafted the first full-face mask, Medusa. In the decades since, Cressi’s researchers, designers and ocean testers have all contributed to the evolution of Medusa. Today, the Medusa has been totally transformed as the Duke Dry, a full-face mask with dry-stop deflector and anti-fog technologies. This flawless, innovative design provides easy breathing, comfort and safety for snorkelers. It is unlike any other full-face mask on the market today.
The Cressi Difference
What sets apart the Duke Dry from all other full-face masks on the market? Its 180˚ panoramic viewing area is 30% wider than any other full-face mask being sold today. You can inhale and exhale naturally, through either your nose or your mouth, allowing you to be completely comfortable and relaxed while snorkeling. The unique air flow system — the snorkel’s valveless design is unlike any other full face mask’s system — offers safer, easier breathing, reduces fatigue, and eliminates CO2 more effectively and faster. The snorkel’s Fog Stop and Dry Top deflector maximizes air circulation, keeps water out and keeps the mask fog-free so vision is never impaired. For added safety, Cressi includes two water-draining valves; one is located on the bottom of the chin and the other is found at the mouth area. There is not another full-face mask on the market that offers all these features, all designed to provide snorkelers with a comfortable, enjoyable and safer experience.
The Cressi Quality Promise
The Duke Dry is made from materials that are made to withstand jarring impacts and harsh environments. The mask’s frame and visor are made of polycarbonate, a tough, durable material that offers protection from impacts, such as being dropped on a rocky shore. The polycarbonate material also protects against scratches. The ultra-comfortable skirt is made from soft hypoallergenic silicone.
The Duke Dry comes in two sizes, Small/Medium and Medium/Large.
